Weta Workshop have unveiled some new concept artwork from their time working on season 1 of Alien Earth. The series by Noah Hawley boldly altered Xenomorph life cycle lore by introducing and changing various stages of the Xenomorph's gestational development (a process often hidden from the viewer in the movies). From the Chestburster embryo to a literal baby Xenomorph – the following concept artwork details the creative process Weta underwent to bring Noah's vision of the Alien to life for his TV series.

A Xenomorph lifecycle is a complex, messy process. First there’s the Ovomorph, then the scuttling Facehugger, followed shortly thereafter by a Chestburster that rapidly grows into a fully fledged killing machine.
In the FX series Alien Earth, one of the Xenomorphs evolves in a lab-grown lung. We worked closely with creator Noah Hawley to carefully explore how this creature would develop differently in his adaption. This Alien Day, discover the concept art that brought this lifecycle to life.

While some decisions Noah Hawley made with Alien Earth remain controversial within the Alien fandom, many enjoyed his approach to the Xenomorph reproductive lifecycle.
