These space jockeys are supposed to be huge, if ALIEN is anything to go by, when you scale Brett and co with the SJ it's gotta be at least 16 foot standing. These engineers look big and what have you but they are short in comparison maybe the original SJ is like an elder alien or the super alien, and the new ones are younglings or indeed worker ants.

i mentioned this in a previous post, but if the engineers/space jockeys are living biomechanical organisms then there is a possiblity that their dna can be similar to ours esp if they engineered us....not everyone on earth is shaq o neal there are short folks tall folks fat folks skinny folks etc etc

bloody hell do people intentionally spam all these forums up or what? I like coming here, the other one and having a browse at IMDB for interesting tidbits but boy will I be glad when I have seen the movie so all this is over.

Most obvious explanation for me is just design change, didn't put much though in continuing the SJ story on 30 years ago or he just thought it would look better this way, but maybe there are different types of SJ.

The Engineers are not necessarily all of the same size, or even function. If there is genetic engineering going on, there could be some who only ever move furniture; so they're HUGE. We know nothing about their society. Others might be tiny with huge brains. All they do is think, eat, and poop.

Does it really matter what size they are? We all know who the characters are meant to be and it's pointless arguing over their height and whether the director of the film got it 'right' or 'wrong'. He's the director, not us! (Which is why he earns megabucks making the films and we don't!)

Perhaps they have a version of 'being on steroids' as a lot of bodybuilders are known to do around the world.. Evern more-so, perhaps when one of those Bio-Engineers/Guy in the Blue-Grey suit gets into The Chair maybe he gets 'ampt up' and becomes thus a 'Jockey on Steroids' as it were!
