ads? paypal donations? WTF?

Why is there ads on a movie site? and a paypal button for hosting costs? This is the first I ever seen on a movie site... Did the budget run out? I just thought this odd and would like to know more about why there are ads on a movie site.. Specially one that will surpass a billion dollars in profit within the next 3 years (if not sooner).

Because this isn't an official movie site and because the internet costs money. Money? You know, the green papery stuff with the dead presidents on 'em?

This is fan site so they can do monetization as per their wish to pay the bills for hosting. Look at the bottom it is not official site of FOX.

The site has a system for donations... They dont pressure or ask for any.... The hosting space for websites and servers usually costs money, many who make these sites dont make any cash or want any for their work, its just some donations helps with any costs that they incur out of pocket for making and hosting this site...

I thought this was the official movie site. Now it makes sense.. Now i'll be wondering why apple.com linked this site and not the official site? . . . . there is no official prometheus site? wtf? Fox needs to hook this site up and pay for its cost the cheap bastards. This is a great site and I thought all along this was the official place for prometheus and not a fan based site.

Because they're getting free advertising for the movie, basically. This site has worked well to Fox's advantage. And I've donated myself, because this place is worth it ;-)
