may i suggest non-fiction? It really sounds like you wanted to be watching a documentary on NASA or something similar.

Well I agree mega crap parts in this but some very good ones to so I would be more of a 6 out of 10. It does seem like some of the shit parts are being explained slowly over the internet. A few I found so far: David is psycopathic as he has no emotions he's a robot of course but its not as simple as that! He wasnt quiet as bad as you might think as he was mearley following weylands orders to get answers fast and at any cost. I also heard maybe that the two scientists do actually get high before acting all weird and meeting the hammerpeade penis worm thingy. Anyway more info is coming including stuff on the website 'what is 101112' and the dvd will have 20 mins or so more footage apparently and then maybe sequels - so fingers crossed. But yes nothing will stop Holloway from pissing me off severely - thank god he died anyway.

@shawluv Yes we all know its fiction but even fiction needs to be believable or it totally ruins the whole thing! And prometheus had quiet a few of these moments :( !

Glad you decided to take time out of your day just to sign up to this forum and post that you hated it. Why not 0/10?

Because he probably meant to type "0/10" but misspelled it just like every 3rd word in his post.

Even with the lack of safety protocols, I rather enjoyed the schtick that occurred throughout the movie. Normally would not see that quality of screaming in a movie, but the sound quality really just elevated it to point of classic proportions. The acting was sublime and remarkable, with pure gems of dialogue bouncing off the walls of the theater. I for one applaud this madcap Sci Fi, and look forward to next installment. Oh before I forget... the boozing was outstanding and wish I could have obtained one of those beautiful bottles that were on the pool table...
I give that extraordinary cinematic master piece a 8/10... just because they had the balls to spend that amount of money and not test screen it... I really did enjoy it.
One key note about this film... once you get past the surface irritants... the story is quit remarkable and thought provoking...

Patch IMO it was all done deliberately and I wish you were serious, but I do believe everything you said applies in my case...that's my opinion in nutshell only Ridley fooled everyone and I give him a 9.3 for it because in the end he is going to have such a massive last laugh it isn't even funny how pathetic some of the negative posters are going to end up looking for jumping off the band wagon so quickly and for some of the most rediculous reasons i have ever heard of too, this film, like I said, is going to have one Massive shelf life.

Le sigh....
The so called 'fictional scientists' portrayed in this film are simply in no way scientists. I accurately interpreted them as fictional idiots and jackasses, put in place to escalate and enhance the threat level in any given scenario to massive levels.
In a way it wasn't my ability to suspend disbelief that was the problem. The problem was that I had to suspended my disbelief in a team of jackass characters and that is cheap and lame when coming from a serious science fiction film (i.e. not a comedy).

Yes and you need to remember people are scoring this movie as it is on it own at this date and it isnt great - fingers crossed for directors cut and what ever else is next to hopefully save this messy film...

BTW, I love the $25,000 Pyramid show when I was a kid. Also, Family Feud and everyday a person that I liked in the 70s are passing away.
Anyway, I signed up on the forum before the movie came out and end up being so hugely disappointed that I agree with your mini review. You should put a minus sign by your 1 lol
