I'm 44 and have been a dir hard Alien fan since I was 8. I've experienced not only the Xenoverse but the comicverse too.
I watched Alien vs Predator 7 months before it came out and I've seen every single cut, extended, deleted and outtake from ALL of the movies.
I've compared the infinity better told comic story lines to the films and the console game storyline tie-ins and also have original movie pieces and a vast figure collection too.
I don't say this lightly at all, this show was an absolute train wreck. What happen to H.R Geigers Xenomorph? All you had to do was pick up a comic book or did if you needed to double check what the Xeno looked like!
For Odins sake, it looks as though you didn't even try to stay faithfull to the the concept.
I totally accepted the new types of additional new spieces of aliens but the Xenos themselves were terrible.
Everything from the gestation period to the growth rate to the eggs to the final adult soldier look was atrocious.
And don't even get me started with the sudden Droid ability to communicate with them.
I am an absolute die hard fan if the entire universe but this truly was awful.
So shameful. Zero credit where none is due.

I disagree here – the show CAN be redeemed… but it would require an aggressive ret-con. Make it a dream sequence for Wendy, the entirety of season 1 chalked up to her brain adapting to her new neural interface and season 2 picks up as she “comes online”, but in an already destroyed Prodigy facility. Xenomorphs got loose already, ransacked the place and her “dreams” were a way of processing the chaos she was hearing / sensing outside her body. Could kinda work too given the “Peter Pan” angle season 1 took, you could easily explain it away as an elaborate dream state.
In my humble opinion, with the level of cringe and horrible aspects, people are being far too generous. lol

Noah Hawley doesn't care about ALIEN he said so himself, so I think we will be getting more or less the same.

Poorly understood elements indeed. Felt like a parody of Alien, not actually Alien... But you never know - Noah Hawley could have taken the criticism seriously and completely shifted gears for season 2.
I wish this show would have been good. It just feels like a really terrible version of Fargo that crossed over with poorly understood elements of Ridley Scott science fiction.

yes, LV426 is just 2 days away. Hopefully we will get some news on the sequel
Good to know the world is expanding and maybe they will go beyond Earth . Hopefully we will be able to see Season 2 in 2027 Summer.

So people are leaning into the Romulus sequel has been shelved and replaced by a completely standalone film? I’m okay with that. I think multiple projects with different storylines isn’t a bad idea. If the next movie is actually continuing what Romulus set up, then it is reasonable to assume Kay’s body is in cryo and the remaining Z-01 likely stayed onboard secured. Those are still obvious live threads. The same goes for Rain and Andy. The idea that a sequel would move on from them does not line up with what Fede has said and not treating them like disposable characters. Based on the information we have, it makes more sense to view these elements as unresolved setup rather than assume they were quietly discarded offscreen. Hope we get some news on the 26th.
I could totally see a completely new standalone film but I wouldn't mind a direct sequel either, solely because of the wholesome chemistry between Rain and Andy alone. While the creative possibilities are endless in this particular regard I just can't see a replacement for David Jonsson's Andy. He stole the show in my book.

Honestly, as much as I loved David Jonsson as Andy, I wouldn’t be mad if they introduced a completely new storyline for the next instalment. I mean, what really are the chances of Andy and Rain getting themselves into more Xenomorph conflict if they’re not actively seeking it out? Highly unlikely.
